Not only did I make it to work before the Arthritis Foundation commercial today (non-surgical techniques are now available through fellowship-trained technicians), but furst.bigwhoop.org will also be visited by it's 10,000th visitor, assuming statistics hold up under such enormous stress. There will be a prize, unless it's someone searching for some variety of pornography, especially midget.
Posted by E1st at November 17, 2003 07:32 AMi tried refreshing the page 10 times to artificially reach 10,000. when that didn't work i deleted my cookies, then tried it again. that didn't work either, which leads me to believe your counter is based off of IP addresses, which means that the rooke computer lab will compliment my underhanded idea quite nicely. that is if i feel up to it in 2 hours, which i probably wont.
TO change subjects entirely, on saturday gus drove sonic, alec and I to lock haven to watch regionals. on the way gus managed to piss off a middle aged man driving a turgid sedan rife with with penn state stickers. We thought it was funny when he started giving us the finger. Laughter stopped once he pulled out a handgun and started banging it against his window. i wish my cell phone had service at the time. it would have been nice to see a state trooper pull the guy over, since after we slowed down to let him by he stayed about 100m ahead of us for 20 minutes or so. Instead gus called the cops later that day with teh guys license plate. at least now i can say i have had a gun pulled on me.
Andy's story checks out. The 10,000th was referred from his page and everything. For reference, unless other NCSt guys visit, Stephen was visitor number 9,999 and Carl was visitor number 10,001. The best part is that Carl probably saw the number 10,000 when he first got here, since the hit counter had yet to register his hit.
Isn't it nice that the regulars were so honored.
So that's 10,000 semi-unique visitors in a span on about 1 year and 10 days. That's 26.7 visitors a day, otherwise known as almost nothing.
If it were up to that black counter below the one that shows the number, Steve Pearson would be lord and commander of this website, with his roughly 300 visits a month.
What can I say? Its good stuff. And I don't think I visit 10 times a day. Maybe 5.
